Putting an end to common fitness debates
Problems occur when one person sees results on one method and then, because of their success, they begin to thinks it’s the Holy Grail of training and every other method is wrong. Today, we’re going to find the truth between these pointless common debates.
CARDIO VS WEIGHT TRAINING - There are a lot of new programs out there saying that you don’t need cardio, it’s overrated. Just lift. You also have the other side of the spectrum of people that push cardio and only cardio to no end. This is basic psychology. We all are born with certain physical strengths and weaknesses. Some of us are more built naturally for weight lifting, others for other sports like running. I will always be a better lifter than a runner but I run, I do my cardio because I know it’s good for me and gives me benefits weight training doesn’t give me. Step out of your comfort zone and don’t let your ego prevent you from reaping the benefits of both.
ORGANIC VS SUPERMARKET FOOD – There are a lot of people that will have you believe your not going to reach your health potential unless you eat totally, 100% organic. Others will tell you it’s a complete waste of money. Some find organic food fresher tasting and I think they get a psychological boost when the label says organic. But also understand from someone who has watched many, many clients lose weight and get healthier over the years, many if not most, got their food at a plain grocery store. I don’t think eating organic is a waste of money if you feel it gives you that edge. On the other hand, I don’t believe it’s absolutely necessary for a healthy lifestyle.
SUPPLEMENTS VS NATURAL - If you’re considering a supplement, I would suggest trying it for a month and then getting off of it, recording the results. If it works, use it. I mean even if its’ psychological, it might be worth while for you. I’ll be honest with you, I believe most supplements on the market are a complete waste of money, but some are not. Some are really good. When it comes to your money, don’t just listen to me or the supplement salesman or any other trainer for that matter. The number one person you should be listening to is your own body.
