Top things that can wreak havoc on Your Physique

1. Sugar - It is amazing how many people really wonder why so many people in this country are overweight but it’s no surprise to me. The average American adult consumes more than 150 pounds of sugar annually, children even more. What Kyle is holding here is just about 50 pounds. How is this possible? Simple. Most of us drink most of our calories. One can of soda has around 9 teaspoons of sugar in it and most people drink much more than a can a day. There’s a famous saying “don’t worry about your paint job if your transmissions shot.” A low sugar diet is the foundation of a healthy lifestyle.

2. Bread – Even though the low carb fad has come and gone it doesn’t mean all those Dr. Atkins fans had it wrong. It was Dr. Atkins himself that stood up and faced persecution for years from dieticans and other doctors for his warning about eating too much bread. Come to find out he was right. Grains and breads are extremely calorie dense and, compared to vegetables or fruit, are laughable when it comes to vitamins and nutrients. Bottom line, I’ve seen bread and grains cause more weight loss plateaus than any other type of food. If you’re wanting to lean down please once a week.

3. Alcohol - Think that six pack two or three times a week can’t cause much harm? Well, think again. Alcohol has been proven to cause dramatic dips in testosterone production. This hormone plays a critical role in muscle strength and recovery and too many drinks will pretty much guarantee a huge drop in performance not to mention the high calorie and often addictive nature of alcohol. Keep it to a once a week maximum.
